You First is a locally based, locally managed, independent Social Enterprise that exists to enable adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to lead great lives. As we are growing we are looking for people to join our highly skilled, motivated and compassionate Support Worker team. Experience is not essential as full training will be provided but you will need a compassionate nature, be a car driver, be able to work evenings and weekends and be able to take personal responsibility

You First Will
- Pay £9.00 an hour, rising to £9.35 an hour for weekday hours upon successful completion of your probation.
- Weekends are paid at £9.50
- You will have 5.6 weeks of paid leave each year PLUS an additional days (pro-rata) paid leave that is allocated to your birthday
- We pay 22p per mile for every mile you travel, including commuting miles
- Sleep In duties are paid at £50.00
- People working Waking Nights are paid £10.50 per hour
- We offer permanent, full time, part time and casual contracts
- We do not use Zero Hour Contracts
- We provide an Occupational Pension
- We have an Employee Assistance Programme meaning you and your family have access to free and confidential 24-hour counselling and support
- We have a Staff Board that meets bi-monthly that works to support a positive employee experience for everyone who works with the Social Enterprise
- We meet the cost of your DBS check
- You will receive full training and bi-monthly supervision
- You will have the option to study for a nationally recognised Diploma

THE POST
We are looking to build a Waking Night Team around “T”, a 64-year-old man with learning disabilities and autism in Glastonbury, Somerset. T lives in his in his own property and loves to spend time in Glastonbury town centre during the day. He loves cars, plants, his garden, his family and friends, socialising, live music and food!
T needs support to have a restful night’s sleep and to keep safe during the night. He will require emotional support to help him process events, losses, and change. You will also be required to orientate T to time and place for him to understand the difference between night and day.
We are looking to build a waking night team around T as his needs have changed.HOW DO WE PROVIDE SUPPORT?
We deliver support via small Micro-Teams. A Micro-Team is made up of a small group of people who have been matched with the person supported and work closely with that individual. Micro-Teams work because everything is built on relationship both with the person supported and with your colleagues.
HOW ARE TEAM MEMBERS SUPPORTED?
- You will have a full Induction before you start working with people and this will include person specific training for the people you will be working with Each Micro-Team has a SLACK channel (virtual message board) where you can communicate and obtain support from team members
- You First has a 24 hour On Call facility, so you are never really on your own
- You will have bi-monthly One-to-One sessions with a senior member of the team
- Full and on-going training will be provided
- If you are new to Social Care you will be supported through your Care Certificate. This is dedicated training that will support you in understanding the Support Worker role and the nature of support
- You will have your working roster 4 weeks in advance, so you can plan your life! Your roster is in the form of an App
- You will be assigned a Buddy as well as a Supervisor

Join J's Team in Yeovil
You First Support Services is a local Social Enterprise specialising in delivering a range of support solutions for adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or a mental health condition.
We are looking for support workers to join J’s team and we have various hours available. Full training and professional development will be provided throughout employment.
J is a man living independently in Yeovil, Somerset. J needs support to maintain his emotional wellbeing. He needs help to maintain his home and get out and about in his community. He has a keen interest in cars, fishing, football and reality television and likes people with a good sense of humour. J is supported on a 24-hour basis and his support does not involve Personal Care.
You must be able to sleep-in, working evenings and weekends on a roster basis and be a driver with access to a vechicle.
What does a Support Worker do?
Support Workers support people with a learning disability and/or autism to build and grow their lives by achieving individual life goals and aspirations. You will enable people to lead a life in which they have a meaningful role within their local community and where they can begin to foster naturally occurring social networks of support thus reducing their dependency upon paid staff.
You First will:
- Pay you £9.00 an hour, rising to £9.30 an hour for weekday hours upon successful completion of your probation.

You First is a Social Enterprise that provides community based support for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. We are looking for people to join our Support Worker team in Trowbridge. As a Support Worker you would support and enable people to achieve the ambition they have for their lives and work in a way that truly connects people with their local community.
Experience is not essential as full training will be provided but you will need a compassionate nature, be a car driver, be able to work evenings and weekends and be able to take personal responsibility.
A is a man living independently in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. A needs support to maintain his routine as structure and predictability are important to him. He needs help to maintain his home and get out and about.
- A likes people with a good sense of humour. He has a keen interest in walking, the gym, fishing and television.
- He is supported on a 24-hour basis.
- There are a range of support hours available including sleep in support.
- Full training will be provided.
You First Will:
