Chelsie and Julian are the latest You First Support Workers to achieve the Care Certificate.
Support Workers study on line as well as accessing You First's Care Certificate Framework workshops and submit workpacks that relate to the 15 modules that make up the award that include:
- Understand your role
- Your personal development
- Duty of care
- Equality and diversity
- Work in a person centred way
- Privacy and dignity
- Fluids and nutrition
- Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities
- Safeguarding adults
- Safeguarding children
- Basic life support
- Health and safety
- Handling information
- Infection prevention and control
Observations and assessments also form part of the assessment process.
Nathalie John, Operational Director said: "it really was a pleasure to read and mark both Chelsie and Julian's work - they produced work of a very high standard."
"I really welcomed today’s session and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to engage in the role plays and paper based and one-to-one exercises. I learnt from this more of the expectations as a Support Worker for You first and to see my values backed up with operations was beneficial.
I do genuinely now feel more empowered and part of a collective team and look forward to ongoing training opportunities to build my learning and add ongoing and future value to You First."
